Gyeonggi-do Hosts Citizen Culture Experience Festival, Gathering 1,400 Participants

The 13th Gyeonggi-do Citizen Culture Experience Festival was held at the Gyeonggi Arts Center in Suwon on August 29, attracting over 1,400 participants. This annual event, initiated in 2009 as the ‘Citizen Culture (Dongari) Experience Festival’, aims to promote cultural sharing among diverse age groups. Participants from 30 cities and counties, including members of citizen center cultural program clubs, citizen council members, and general citizens, showcased a variety of cultural programs, ranging from traditional Korean clothing displays to broadcasting dance, fusion music, and musical performances. The festival awarded prizes to outstanding performances, with the Grand Prize going to the Jeongwang 3-dong Chumsarang Myeongdan team for their traditional Korean clothing demonstration. The event also aimed to encourage active citizen participation in local communities and promote cultural development across Gyeonggi-do.
