The Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation held a three-day workshop aimed at fostering collaboration on ESG-centered cultural tourism, community activation, and youth entrepreneurship support. The workshop featured a donation ceremony for supporting local communities, presentations and discussions on domestic and international case studies for regional tourism and community activation, and a forum on youth entrepreneurship based on community engagement. The workshop emphasized practical solutions and included direct interaction with local entrepreneurs. The corporation also entered into agreements with five organizations, including the Gyeongsangbuk-do Haenyeo Association, Gyeongsangbuk-do Environmental Education Research Institute, Gyeongbuk National University’s Blue Carbon Convergence Research Center, and the non-profit organization, Regional Social Businesses. These organizations pledged to collaborate on various initiatives, such as developing and utilizing cultural tourism content related to Haenyeo, creating strategies for attracting entrepreneurs and active residents, and developing and managing educational programs for children and youth. The workshop underscores the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and fostering economic opportunities for local communities.
