Greece is experiencing a spell of stormy weather that is expected to last another 24 hours. The Open TV meteorologist, Marousakis, has stated that since Friday afternoon, the weather has been very intense with strong thunderstorms in many areas, particularly in the central and northern parts of the country. The bad weather is gradually shifting towards the Aegean Sea, while the intensity of storms will decrease in mainland Greece. A strong wave of instability is also anticipated on Saturday, with the meteorologist forecasting heavy rainfall, locally intense thunderstorms, and hail in the central, eastern, and southern mainland regions. The worst affected area, Thessaly, will continue to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms for the next few hours. The weather is expected to improve briefly before worsening again on Sunday. The storm is forecast to abate on Sunday, starting from the western regions and gradually moving eastwards across the country.
