Hilmi, who had been displaced from his home with his family following the start of Israeli attacks on October 7th, used his social media platforms to shed light on the hardships faced by Gazans. His videos, which documented the daily struggles and realities of life under Israeli bombardment, resonated with a large online audience, garnering over 200,000 followers across platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Hilmi’s goal was to raise global awareness about the plight of Gazans and mobilize international support for humanitarian aid. He was tragically killed on Monday while seeking shelter near the beach in Khan Yunis, when an Israeli missile struck nearby, fatally injuring him. A video he uploaded just moments before his death showed him working outside his tent, highlighting the dire circumstances of Gazans and their urgent need for food and essential supplies.
