A recent poll conducted by Ipsos, focusing on the political climate in France, has revealed a significant level of regret among right-wing voters who voted for the ‘New Popular Front’ (NFP) in the recent legislative elections. The NFP emerged victorious in the elections, despite not securing an absolute majority. This outcome resulted from a ‘republican front’ formed to counter the National Rally (RN), which had topped the polls in the first round. In many constituencies, an agreement was reached between the presidential camp and the left, leading to the withdrawal of the third-placed candidate. The poll reveals that 62% of those who voted for the Republicans or the ‘Diverse Right’ in the first round and ultimately backed the NFP in the second round against the National Rally express regret for their decision. This figure is even higher for those who voted for the ‘Ensemble’ coalition in the first round, with 28% expressing moderate regret and 18% expressing significant regret.
