Firefighters Battle Wildfire in Evia, Greece

A wildfire broke out on Friday afternoon (August 30) in a forested area of Evia, Greece. Firefighters immediately responded, deploying 22 firefighters, one hiking team, and six vehicles. Three aircraft and one helicopter are also assisting in the firefighting efforts from the air. Water trucks from local municipalities are also supporting the firefighting operation. Initial reports indicate that the flames do not pose an immediate threat to any nearby settlements.
