Ferrari has unveiled a unique livery for the Italian Grand Prix, set to take place this weekend at Monza. While some anticipated a fully black design for the Scuderia’s home race, after the team debuted black overalls yesterday, the iconic red remains dominant. The design borrows inspiration from Ferrari’s previous special liveries in Miami and Las Vegas, featuring subtle black accents. This time, the SF-24 sports black numbers and a carbon fiber lower winglet on the front wing, highlighting the importance of carbon fiber in F1 safety. Ferrari pays tribute to the material’s history, noting its introduction in 1958 and its use by the Scuderia in 1982 to reinforce the aluminum chassis of their 126 C2. The following year, the first carbon fiber monocoque was used in the 126 C3, marking the beginning of carbon fiber’s prevalence in car bodies, suspensions, and gearbox protection. To further emphasize the tribute, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s helmets will feature exposed carbon fiber sections in collaboration with their helmet provider, Bell. Yellow accents on the helmets complete the design, celebrating the colors of Ferrari and Modena.
