Fenerbahce has officially announced the signing of Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Amrabat, who played for Manchester United on loan last season, returns to his parent club Fiorentina before making the move to Turkey. The transfer was confirmed by the Turkish club, which stated that Amrabat will arrive in Istanbul for medical examinations and further negotiations. Reports suggest that Fenerbahce successfully fulfilled manager Jose Mourinho’s desire to bring Amrabat to the club, with Fiorentina receiving a loan fee of €2 million, a mandatory purchase option of €13 million, and an additional €3 million in potential bonuses. Amrabat’s stint with Manchester United last season saw him feature in 30 matches across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in the Red Devils’ FA Cup triumph over Manchester City.
