Father Kills Daughter in Turkey, She Is Laid to Rest

A young woman, Eylem Sevilen, was tragically killed by her father, Murat Sevilen, in the Turkish town of Gönen. The incident occurred when Murat Sevilen refused to allow Eylem to attend a friend’s birthday party. Her funeral was held on Tuesday, amidst grief and sorrow. Eylem’s body was transported to Gönen’s Veysel Karani Mosque after an autopsy at the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute. She was buried in the Gönen City Cemetery following an afternoon prayer service. Her mother, Hafize Sevilen, was inconsolable as she received condolences at the funeral. It has been revealed that Murat Sevilen had previously served time in prison for another offense before being released. He is currently in custody for Eylem’s murder.
