The Kisan Sabha, a national farmers’ union, has criticized the Indian government for its perceived indifference towards the agricultural sector, calling it a critical issue for the nation’s survival. S. Moakery, National Secretary of the Kisan Sabha, expressed this concern during the inauguration of the organization’s district conference in Kottayam, Kerala. He stressed the urgent need to protect the agricultural sector and ensure its sustainability. The conference, held at the CSI Retreat Center, featured various speakers, including senior leader V.K. Karunakaran who hoisted the flag, district secretary E.N. Dassappan who presented the report, CPI district secretary Adv. V.B. Binu, and Kisan Sabha state vice-president Mathew Varghese. The event concluded with a farmers’ conference scheduled for the afternoon, to be inaugurated by Minister P. Prasad.
