A man has been arrested for igniting a green smoke bomb during a Hungarian football match between Ferencváros and Újpest. Police identified the suspect, a 50-year-old Budapest resident, after a video of the incident went viral. The man admitted to setting off the smoke bomb, claiming it was a ‘good prank’ but now regrets his actions. He was apprehended and questioned on August 30th, and the case is currently being processed by the Budapest Police Headquarters. Ferencváros was recently penalized by the Hungarian Football Federation for fan-related incidents, including a suspended closed-door match. Újpest received a sector ban.
