Former West Bengal Food Minister Jyotipriya Mallick’s health has been a subject of ongoing medical scrutiny. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently challenged the accuracy of previous medical reports submitted by SSKM and Apollo Hospitals in Kolkata, leading to a Calcutta High Court order for a fresh examination. The ED’s legal representative, Dheeraj Trivedi, argued that discrepancies were found in the reports and requested the examination be conducted at Command Hospital. Mallick’s lawyer, Milan Mukherjee, stated that his client’s condition necessitates potential dialysis, emphasizing the urgency of evaluating the situation. The court, taking into account the concerns raised by both parties, ordered the re-examination at Command Hospital under the supervision of the Presidency Jail Superintendent and ED representatives. The court directed Command Hospital to submit the new report by September 11th, with the next hearing scheduled for September 12th.
