Panathinaikos have officially signed Turkish center Ömer Yurtseven to a two-year contract. The 26-year-old, standing at 2.11 meters tall, began his career with Fenerbahçe before spending two years in college basketball. He went undrafted in 2020 but was subsequently signed by the Miami Heat. Yurtseven averaged 5 points and 4.6 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per game over his three seasons in the NBA. He expressed excitement about joining Panathinaikos, stating, “I’m very excited, can’t wait to play for the team that just won the EuroLeague a few months ago. I’m looking forward to playing for our fans, I’ve heard they create a great atmosphere and I can’t wait to experience it firsthand. I know the team is one of the biggest in Europe with a lot of titles and a glorious history.” Yurtseven also emphasized his desire to help the team achieve its goals, stating, “I promise to do everything I can to help the team achieve its goals.
