EU Must Boost Arms Production: Von der Leyen

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, has urged the European Union to significantly increase its arms production capacity. Speaking at the GLOBSEC security conference in Prague, she highlighted the need for a stronger European defense pillar, emphasizing that relying solely on NATO for security is insufficient. She warned against the illusion that Europe has done enough for its security, stating that the coming years will be high risk. Von der Leyen stressed the importance of reassessing the foundations of European security architecture in light of the Russian invasion, arguing that it served as a wake-up call for the EU.
