Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has been suspended in Brazil following a court order from Judge Alexandre de Moraes. The judge had given Musk 24 hours to appoint a legal representative in the country, warning of an ‘immediate suspension’ if he refused. Musk, however, defied the order, stating on the platform that it constituted an infringement on the social network’s freedom. In response, the Brazilian court carried out the threat, effectively blocking X’s access within the country. This move comes after Musk closed X’s offices in Brazil in August, despite the platform boasting over 22 million users.
