Former Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ambassador Nabil Fahmy, has stated that recent tensions following the Gaza war were initiated by Israel. Fahmy, in an interview on the ‘Hall of Editing’ program on ‘Sada El Balad’ channel, asserted that the US is exerting pressure on Israel to avoid further exacerbating the situation in Gaza. He emphasized that Iran, not Hamas, poses the greater threat to Israel. Fahmy further noted that Iran did not initiate any confrontations with Israel, although this does not absolve Tehran of responsibility. He anticipates a new round of negotiations regarding the situation in Gaza, with increased US pressure on Israel expected due to the Gaza war. Fahmy also highlighted the ongoing internal debate within Israel concerning the risks of engaging in multiple fronts due to the economic, political, and military repercussions of the year-long conflict.
