Egypt’s Ministry of Education has announced significant changes to the school calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year, aiming to enhance the quality of education. The new calendar features an extended teaching period, now spanning 31 weeks instead of the previous 23 weeks. Additionally, each lesson has been increased by 5 minutes, resulting in a 33% boost in overall teaching time. This shift is expected to allow for a more comprehensive delivery of the curriculum, including a greater emphasis on active learning methodologies. The Minister of Education has also highlighted the importance of strengthening French language education in schools, emphasizing the value of collaborating with French experts to refine language curricula and provide support for teachers.
