Renowned Egyptian screenwriter Atef Beshay has passed away after a prolonged battle with illness. He succumbed to complications arising from a brain hemorrhage, which led to his hospitalization in a private clinic in New Cairo. Beshay’s family announced that his funeral will be held on Sunday at St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in New Cairo, with a memorial service following at 7 pm. They requested prayers for Beshay’s soul and expressed gratitude for the condolences received. Beshay’s contributions to Egyptian cinema and television are significant, with notable works including the series ‘The Happiness Merchant’, starring the late Khaled Saleh, ‘Omar El-Yakoubian’, and ‘Cinderella’.
