Egyptian consumers are experiencing a wave of price reductions across key food items. The prices of rice, beans, sunflower oil, sugar, pasta, lentils, meat, poultry, and white cheese have all dropped compared to yesterday’s prices. This information comes from the Egyptian Cabinet’s Information Center, which publishes daily updates on the prices of essential commodities. Notable price drops include a 5.42 Egyptian pound reduction for a kilo of packaged rice, a 6.28 pound decrease for a kilo of packaged beans, and a 5.77 pound fall for a kilo of fresh meat. While most food prices have decreased, the price of corn oil has seen a slight increase.
