A medical team at the interventional radiology unit of Sohag University Hospital in Egypt has successfully employed peripheral arterial catheterization to treat a 75-year-old patient suffering from a bleeding femoral artery. The patient, who had previously undergone surgery on the leg and was also dealing with a brain stroke and a leaking aneurysm in one of the femoral arteries, received the innovative treatment. This new medical service highlights the high quality of care provided at Sohag University Hospital. The procedure, considered a safe alternative to traditional surgery, involved using a catheter to seal the bleeding arteries, avoiding the need for open surgery. This advancement provides a safer and less invasive option for treating such cases.
