Egyptian fertilizer company, Helwan for Fertilizers, has awarded the consultancy work for the construction of a new melamine production plant to ENPPI. This collaboration marks a significant step towards establishing Egypt as a key player in the melamine market. The new plant, which will have an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons, is set to be the first of its kind in Africa and the second in the Middle East. ENPPI will be responsible for reviewing and preparing the terms of reference, including license documents, tendering the project to specialized contractors, and overseeing the turnkey implementation. The signing ceremony took place at ENPPI headquarters on August 27th, with the presence of key officials from both companies. Hassan Abdel Aleem, Chairman and Managing Director of Helwan for Fertilizers, highlighted the significance of the project in meeting local demand for melamine and boosting export capabilities. The plant is expected to create new job opportunities and attract downstream industries, further strengthening the Egyptian economy.
