Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Ayman Baha El-Din, announced the implementation of a new policy requiring international schools to teach Arabic, history, and religious studies. This decision follows extensive discussions with educational institutions and is deemed consistent with the 2014 Egyptian Constitution. The policy mandates the teaching of these subjects using the Egyptian curriculum for students up to the third preparatory year, effective immediately. For secondary school students, the subjects will be integrated into the curriculum with specific content, taking effect from the 2025-2026 academic year. These subjects will be added to the overall curriculum, accounting for 10% of the total coursework.
