Egypt has successfully contained both monkeypox and cholera outbreaks, with no reported cases of either disease to date. This achievement is attributed to the country’s robust surveillance network, which actively monitors individuals arriving from high-risk regions like Sudan and Congo. Dr. Amgad El Hadad, head of the Immunology and Allergy Department at the Serum and Vaccine Institute, emphasized the importance of Egypt’s vigilant monitoring at airports and ports, including regular water analysis to ensure safety. He also highlighted the strength of Egypt’s healthcare system, which has played a crucial role in preventing the spread of these diseases.
