A truck driver, Doan Minh Trong, has been sentenced to four years in prison for a fatal accident in Vietnam. The victim, Doan Thi Ngoc H., was found to have a blood alcohol content of 241mg/100ml at the time of the accident. Her husband, Ngo Viet Ha, and his lawyer, Le Van Thien, raised concerns about the accuracy of this finding, claiming that she was a hard-working woman who didn’t drink alcohol during her workday. The court acknowledged the concerns but ultimately upheld the conviction, stating that the evidence pointed to Trong as being solely responsible for the accident. The court also confirmed that the blood sample was analyzed by two experts and the process was conducted according to legal regulations.
