Residents of a JJ cluster in Okhla Phase-2, southeast Delhi, have expressed anger and frustration following a demolition drive carried out by authorities on Friday. They claim that they were given only two days’ notice before the demolition began, leaving them with little time to remove their belongings and find alternative accommodation. Several residents, who have lived in the area for decades, have said they were left with no choice but to watch their homes be destroyed. Police have assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to maintain order during the demolition operation, which continues.
