A tragic bus crash in central Mali has claimed the lives of 14 people and injured 29 others, nine of whom are in critical condition, according to the Ministry of Transport. The accident occurred around 6:00 AM local time in the commune of Fana, resulting in significant material damage. The bus, traveling from Fana to the capital Bamako, collided head-on with a truck and trailer traveling in the opposite direction. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in Mali, often attributed to poor road conditions, vehicle maintenance issues, and human error. A similar incident in late July resulted in the deaths of 16 people when two buses collided in central Mali.
