The Railway Station Road in Kollam has become a major safety hazard due to deep potholes that have formed on the road. These potholes are particularly dangerous near the bus stop opposite the Karbala area, a busy thoroughfare leading to the railway station, SN College, Fatima College, and schools. Despite the potholes being present for weeks, authorities have yet to take any action to repair them. The potholes are causing major inconvenience to commuters, with vehicles being forced to navigate around them, leading to potential accidents. The situation is particularly perilous at night and during the rainy season, as the potholes are often filled with water, making them invisible to drivers. Auto-rickshaw drivers are especially affected, with their vehicles frequently hitting the potholes, leading to costly repairs and lost earnings. Concerned residents are urging authorities to address this issue urgently, fearing that the situation may worsen and result in more severe accidents.
