The Odonat network of environmental associations in the Grand Est region of France is organizing a cycling tour across the region. This initiative aims to connect natural parks, unite naturalists, and highlight the crucial role of field data collection in understanding biodiversity. The tour will begin on September 9th in Strasbourg and traverse the Grand Est, showcasing its natural wonders and the importance of scientific observation. With over 10 million naturalist data points, including 80% related to birds, collected annually by the Odonat network, the region boasts a wealth of knowledge about its flora, fauna, and fungi. This information forms a vital foundation for identifying endangered species and developing conservation strategies.
