The Ruta Invasora grain company in Camagüey, Cuba, is a key player in the country’s rice production, supplying the national food basket and expanding into new markets. With 16 operational units spread across six municipalities, the company is committed to ensuring a steady supply of rice while also diversifying its activities. The company cultivates over 1,500 hectares of various crops, raises livestock, and supports three major production centers in the Vertientes municipality. In a bid to boost efficiency and export potential, Ruta Invasora has partnered with Italy to establish an international economic association. This collaboration aims to export charcoal in various formats, enabling the importation of advanced technologies to enhance rice yields. The company also operates three processing centers in Vertientes, Florida, and Camagüey, where it produces rice and wheat-based products like croquettes, hamburgers, bread, and cookies. These sales contribute to employee salaries and other performance-based incentives, ensuring the well-being of over 1,760 workers. Ruta Invasora is also actively participating in the China-Latin America Industrial Park project, ensuring the supply of fertilizers, technology packages, machinery, and other resources to the central-eastern region of Cuba. The company’s commitment to community development is evident in its recent contributions to the repair of emergency medical vehicles and communal services in Vertientes, as well as the renovation of the Noel Fernández Pérez Elderly Home and the operation of the municipality’s public bus service.
