A South Korean court has declared the adoption of the daughter of In Eun-hae, the suspect in the ‘Gyeongbok Murder Case’, by the victim’s husband invalid. The Suwon Family Court ruled on August 28th that the adoption of the daughter by Yun Si’s family, the victim’s family, was invalid. The court found that the adoption was declared null and void because the victim’s husband and the suspect had reported the adoption to the Yongtong-gu Office in Suwon City in July 2018. The Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office previously charged In Eun-hae with murder in May 2022, arguing that the adoption of the daughter was invalid, stating that she was adopted to inherit Yun Si’s insurance money. The victim’s family filed a separate lawsuit for the invalidation of the adoption, citing similar reasons. The court’s decision follows a previous ruling in April 2023 that declared the marriage between In Eun-hae and Yun Si as void.
