The Democratic Republic of Congo’s national football league, previously known as Vodacom Ligue 1, has undergone a name change after the expiration of the sponsorship agreement between Vodacom Congo and the Linafoot (National Football League). The league is now known as ‘Illicocash Ligue 1’, following a new sponsorship deal with Rawbank. The rebranding ceremony took place in Kinshasa on August 25, 2024, and was attended by FECOFA (Congolese Football Association) officials, Illicocash ambassador Ferre Gola, and former footballers Santos Muntubile and Paulin Tokala. The upcoming season marks the 30th edition of the Congolese Ligue 1. Tout-Puissant Mazembe is the most successful club, having won 15 titles, followed by DCMP and AS VClub with 5 each.
