Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), is facing scrutiny over his educational qualifications. A BJP leader, Rakesh Singh, has filed a complaint with the Election Commission, questioning the validity of Paswan’s B.Tech degree and raising concerns about discrepancies in his election affidavit. Singh alleges that the Bundelkhand University, from which Paswan claims to have earned his degree in 2005, has confirmed that Paswan only passed three semesters of computer science engineering. Paswan’s election affidavit, however, stated that he holds a B.Tech (second semester) in computer science. This discrepancy has sparked concerns about the legitimacy of his Lok Sabha membership. The controversy has added another layer of complexity to Bihar’s already volatile political landscape.
