A delegation of Chinese Olympic athletes from the Paris Olympics arrived at Hong Kong International Airport on August 29th, receiving a warm welcome from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government. The delegation, comprising 65 athletes from 16 sports and 8 coaches, was greeted with a grand ceremony at the airport. The athletes, who had just competed in the Paris Olympics, were welcomed by a cheering crowd of Hong Kong residents, youth groups, and the Hong Kong Police Silver Band. Chen Guoji, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs of the Hong Kong SAR government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation, praising their outstanding performance at the Olympics. The visit marks the seventh time a mainland Olympic delegation has visited Hong Kong since its return to China, reflecting the close ties between the mainland and the SAR. During their three-day visit, the athletes will engage in various activities, including meeting with government officials, attending a welcoming dinner hosted by the SAR government, participating in a sports demonstration, and visiting the Hong Kong Sports Institute. The visit aims to foster exchanges and enhance friendship between the mainland and Hong Kong.
