China’s life expectancy has reached a record high of 78.6 years, according to the National Health Commission. This significant achievement reflects the country’s continued progress in public health and healthcare infrastructure. The report highlights improvements in maternal and infant mortality rates, with maternal mortality decreasing to 15.1 per 100,000 and infant mortality dropping to 4.5 per 100,000. China’s healthcare system has seen substantial growth, with a significant increase in the number of doctors and hospitals across the country. By the end of 2023, China had 1,070,785 doctors and 38,355 hospitals, marking a considerable rise from the previous year.
