China’s ‘Agricultural Wholesale Price 200 Index’ registered 130.71 on August 30th, marking a slight decrease of 0.02 points compared to the previous day. Prices for ‘basket of goods’ products, essential for daily consumption, also dropped by 0.02 points. However, pork prices rose by 0.8%, with beef and lamb prices following suit. Egg and poultry prices, on the other hand, experienced a slight dip. The average wholesale price of 28 key vegetables increased by 0.5%, while prices for 6 major fruits rose by 0.1%. Fish prices saw mixed trends, with some varieties experiencing gains while others faced declines. In the overall market, onion, cucumber, scallion, and certain fish varieties witnessed the biggest price increases, while rapeseed, watermelon, and white carp experienced the most significant price drops.
