The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has unveiled new rules aimed at strengthening its control over its vast membership, focusing on weeding out members who are deemed inadequate in their faith, loyalty, and performance. The regulations, released by the CCP Central Committee’s General Office, outline a system for dealing with underperforming and unqualified party members, ensuring the integrity and quality of its membership. The new rules, comprising 27 articles, emphasize self-governance within the party, aiming to cultivate a membership base characterized by strong beliefs, unwavering loyalty, and outstanding contributions. Notably, the regulations reinforce the party’s policy of atheism, mandating that all members adhere to Marxist principles and renounce religious affiliations.
