Charmonai Peer’s Elder Brother, Momtazul Karim, Laid to Rest

Syed Mohammad Momtazul Karim Mostak (70), the elder brother of Charmonai Peer Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim, the Amir of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, passed away on Tuesday and was laid to rest on Wednesday. His funeral prayers and burial were held at the Charmonai Madrasa ground in Barisal Sadar at 1:30 PM. The funeral was led by the party’s Amir, Mufti Syed Rezaul Karim. Mostak was buried in the family graveyard at the Charmonai Madrasa, alongside his father Syed Fazlul Karim and his brother Syed Eschak. Many prominent figures attended the funeral, including Islami Andolon’s Nayeb Amir Mufti Syed Fayzul Karim (Sheikh Charmonai), Secretary General Principal Hafiz Maulana Yunus Ahmad, and other leaders of the organization. Thousands of people from the area, including UP Chairmen and leaders of various political parties, also participated in the funeral. Mostak was a member of the Islami Andolon Bangladesh’s advisory board and the director of the Rampura National Women’s Madrasa. His passing has cast a shadow of grief over the region.
