Car Reduced to Ashes on North Marmara Highway

A light commercial vehicle was engulfed in flames on the North Marmara Highway near Gebze, Kocaeli. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, around 11 p.m., when the driver of the vehicle, Osman A., noticed fire erupting from the engine compartment. He quickly pulled over to the emergency lane and alerted emergency services. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze after nearly an hour of effort. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire. Two lanes of the highway were temporarily closed while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene. Traffic flow was restored to normal after the vehicle was removed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
