Akere Muna, a prominent Cameroonian lawyer known for his efforts to uncover the truth in the Glencore corruption case, has accused the National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH) of manipulating data related to oil sales. Muna claims the SNH altered its website to remove evidence of discounted oil sales to Glencore after he publicly accused the company of corruption. The SNH has denied these allegations, stating that its internal rules prohibit corruption and that they have filed a complaint with the Special Criminal Court. Muna, however, insists on his accusations, citing information from the SNH’s own reports to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which indicated discounts on oil sales to both Glencore and Vittol.
