Bolivian President Luis Arce has reiterated the government’s commitment to guaranteeing a dignified life for the country’s senior citizens. On the Day of the Elderly, Arce affirmed that his administration is working to ensure that over 1.2 million Bolivian seniors live with dignity, autonomy, and active lifestyles. The government has issued over 151,000 identity cards to seniors in 2023, facilitating their access to fundamental rights like healthcare and the Dignity Income program. Arce emphasized the importance of ensuring that all Bolivians, regardless of age, experience dignity, health, and respect. As of June 2024, over 1.2 million seniors have benefited from the Dignity Income program, with women comprising a slight majority of recipients. Arce expressed gratitude and admiration for the contributions and wisdom of the country’s seniors.
