The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) in Bolivia has reminded political parties that they have until September 5th to renew their leadership and align their statutes with Law 1096 on Political Organizations. Failure to comply will result in sanctions. Three out of the twelve political parties have yet to comply, including the Movement for Socialism (MAS-IPSP), the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement (MNR), and National Democratic Action (ADN). This is the fourth extension granted for parties to organize their congresses and renew their leadership, with the deadline now set for September 5th. The TSE is currently investigating the compliance process of two political parties with Law 1096. The MAS has already received a serious warning after failing to meet the previous deadlines. If a party receives three warnings, it will be barred from future elections. The TSE will meet on September 5th to finalize the sanctions that will be imposed on non-compliant parties.
