Bolivia TV, the state-run television channel in Bolivia, is celebrating its 55th anniversary. The channel has reaffirmed its commitment to giving a voice to the diverse population of Bolivia. Vice Minister of Communication Gabriela Alcón emphasized that Bolivia TV is a platform for all Bolivians, respecting diverse viewpoints while providing a space for those who may not find representation in other media outlets. She highlighted the channel’s role in amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, social organizations, and ordinary citizens. Alcón also emphasized the channel’s recent advancements in technology, including the restoration and modernization of its network of repeaters. She credited the current administration for addressing the shortcomings of the previous government, which had left many repeaters inactive, hindering access to information for large parts of the country. This led to a significant expansion of Bolivia TV’s reach, both nationally and internationally, thanks to the Tupac Katari satellite. Bolivia TV has also embraced digital platforms like Facebook, X, TikTok, and Instagram, further expanding its engagement with viewers. The channel has invested in diverse programming, including cultural shows, social inclusion initiatives, and educational programs, catering to viewers of all ages.
