Jean-Denis Garon, the Bloc Québécois MP for the Mirabel riding, has announced he will not seek re-election in the upcoming federal election. Garon, who is expecting his first child with his wife, cited the desire to focus on starting a family as the primary reason for his decision. The MP, who previously worked as an economics professor at UQAM, was first elected in 2021. He expressed gratitude for his time in office and said he remains committed to Quebec’s independence.
