Birmingham residents are being encouraged to provide their feedback on the latest plans for the Smithfield Birmingham project. This ambitious development aims to transform the former wholesale markets into a vibrant destination with residential buildings, cultural spaces, and a new public square. The first plot of land to be developed will include a health and wellbeing-focused leisure facility and shops, along with approximately 400 new homes. Public events, both online and in person, will be held in September, giving residents a chance to view the plans and express their opinions. The project, described as a ‘once in a generation’ opportunity, was approved by Birmingham City Council earlier this year.
