The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced prize money for the player of the match and player of the tournament award winners in all domestic women’s and junior cricket competitions. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced the initiative, highlighting its aim to reward exceptional performances in the domestic circuit. This move extends to the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for senior men, where players of the match will also receive prize money. Shah expressed gratitude to the apex council for their support and expressed optimism that this initiative will create a more rewarding environment for cricketers.
