The oral examinations (viva voce) for the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) have been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) announced this in a press release on Sunday. The oral examinations for the general cadre, originally scheduled from September 1st to 19th, have been postponed. The PSC has stated that the new date for the postponed oral examinations will be announced in due course. The PSC had published the results of the written examinations for the 44th BCS in early April. A total of 11,732 candidates qualified for the oral examinations from a pool of 350,716 applicants. The online application process for the 44th BCS began on December 30, 2021, and concluded on January 31, 2022, with an extension to March 2nd. The preliminary examination was held on May 27, 2022, with the results being announced within 25 days, setting a new record. A total of 15,708 candidates passed the preliminary examination. According to PSC sources, 1,710 officers will be recruited for various cadres in the 44th BCS.
