Vo Thi My Linh, a 31-year-old babysitter in Ho Chi Minh City, has been charged with murder after the death of a 6-month-old baby she was caring for. The infant, N.D.H.A., passed away after suffering severe brain injuries from repeated blows inflicted by Linh. Linh, who was providing childcare services at her apartment for a fee, admitted to striking the baby’s head with her hand out of frustration when the child wouldn’t stop crying. Linh initially lied to the baby’s parents, claiming the child had fallen from a swing. The baby was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries after seven months of intensive care. Police investigations revealed that Linh, who had experience caring for children, was aware of the potential risks of striking a baby’s head. The case has sparked public outrage and calls for justice for the young victim. Linh is currently facing a murder trial, with the court seeking to determine the extent of her culpability in the infant’s death.
