The Ayyanthol region in Thrissur has announced its withdrawal from the Puli Kali competition, a traditional Onam event held annually at the Swaraj Round. The decision comes following the tragic incident in Wayanad and the late announcement by the corporation to resume the festivities. The Ayyanthol region believes the short notice and challenging circumstances make it impossible to properly prepare for the competition, which requires intricate costuming and elaborate performances. As a result, they will also cancel their planned mega show and Onam celebrations at the Ayyanthol Karshakanagar ground.
