Austrian firefighters, known as Florianis, have returned from a two-week training program in Corsica with valuable knowledge and experience in wildfire suppression. The training, part of an EU project, provided an opportunity for the Florianis to learn new techniques and strategies for combating wildfires in particularly vulnerable areas. During their stay, the firefighters participated in hands-on training exercises and gained insights from experienced wildfire fighters. This experience will be invaluable in enhancing their abilities to respond effectively to wildfire incidents in Austria. The program also included a real-world experience when the Florianis were called upon to extinguish an actual wildfire, demonstrating the practical application of their newly acquired skills. The training program is a testament to the importance of international collaboration in sharing knowledge and expertise in wildfire management.
