Armed Robbery in Medina Gounass Leaves Man Injured

A man was shot in the chest during an armed robbery attempt in Medina Gounass, a neighborhood in the Senegalese city of Guédiawaye. The victim, Amadou Oury Diallo, is a businessman who frequently collects money from his Guinean compatriots. The attacker, who remains unidentified, entered Diallo’s home early in the morning and demanded money. When Diallo and his wife hesitated, the attacker shot him in the chest and fled the scene. Diallo was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover. Police are investigating the incident, suspecting that the attacker may have been hired by one of Diallo’s associates.
